Scientific Domain Biological and Medical Sciences
Action Line Coordination and support action
Type Of Project CSA
Abstract InfraCoMP will establish efficient coordination mechanisms between the ESFRI project Infrafrontier and the International Mouse Phenotyping Consortium. Infrafrontier is a pan-European initative to build a sustainable research infrastructure for systemic phenotyping, archiving and distribution of mouse models of human diseases. The IMPC is a global project to carry out systemic phenotyping of mouse lines for each of the 20000 protein-coding genes of the mammalian genome. The IMPC will utilise the research infrastructure provided by Infrafrontier in Europe and similar resource around the globe. InfraCoMP will bring together all the relevant players of Infrafrontier and the IMPC in a series of joint workshops. These workshops will address central issues that have to be resolved to minimise redundancies, maximise mutual benefit and leverage the expertise and infrastructure capacity: - Mouse Phenotyping - Mouse Production, Archiving and Distribution - Access to Phenotyping Data - Community Engagement The results of the workshops will be documented in meeting reports and publicised employing different communication means. InfraCoMP will support the development of a consistent policy for health research in the field of mouse models for human diseases. It will address the specific requirements of an international cooperation of Infrafrontier with the IMPC. Successful cooperaton between Infrafrontier and the IMPC, catalysed by InfraCoMP, will move forward the entire research field.
