Digital Research Infrastructure for the Arts and Humanities

Description DARIAH, the Digital Research Infrastructure for the Arts and Humanities aims to enhance and support digitally-enabled research and teaching across the humanities and arts. DARIAH will develop, maintain and operate an infrastructure in support of ICT-based research practices and support researchers in using ICT-enabled methods to analyse and interpret digital resources. DARIAH is an integrating activity bringing together the state-of-the-art digital arts and humanities activities of its member countries. The following 12 countries (Austria, Croatia, Denmark, France, Germany, Greece, Ireland, Italy, Luxembourg, The Netherlands, Slovenia and Serbia) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding formally stating their willingness to support the establishment of the DARIAH-ERIC. This European legal entity will facilitate the long-term sustainability of DARIAH. DARIAH will operate through its European-wide network of Virtual Competency Centres (VCCs). The four DARIAH VCCs are: e-Infrastructure, Research and Education Liaison, Scholarly Content Management and Advocacy, Impact and Outreach. DARIAH is a project on the ESFRI Roadmap of Research Infrastructures (RIs) of pan-European interest.
