| Description | The Department of Polymer Engineering is a functional unit of BME (Budapest University of Technology and Economics) and has been dealing with education, research and development in the field of polymer technology for decades. Significant results has been obtained in the determination of different material properties, optimization of processing parameters, simulation and modeling of technological processes, development of new materials as well as designing new polymer products both in case of thermoplastic and thermosetting materials. The laboratory equipment of the Department of Polymer Engineering is considered to be good, even at international level, due to the continuous device and machine acquisition and development, mostly form applications. The Department of Polymer Engineering is an enthusiastic follower of quality research and education, hence it obtained the ISO 9001:2008 Quality Management Certificate – unique in Hungary – from TÜV Rheinland in 2002. The test laboratory was also accredited by NAT for almost all examinations. |
