|The Iberian Grid Infrastructure (IBERGRID) unites the Portuguese and Spanish national distributed computing infrastructures under a single federated infrastructure. Through IBERGRID both countries participate in the European Grid Initiative (EGI) supporting a wide range of international research communities. The infrastructure is composed of data processing and storage resources provided by computing centres in universities and research institutes from both countries. The computing resources are seamlessly managed as a single unified infrastructure. The services provided by IBERGRID are mainly targeted at high throughput computing and high performance computing for massive data simulation and processing. They can be accessed via local interfaces, grid computing and via experimental cloud computing services. The IBERGRID infrastructure is open to researchers from all scientific domains. It supports participation in national, regional and international research projects. It also supports international virtual research communities through which computing resources are shared to tackle thematic research challenges. In addition a range of thematic virtual organizations was established for the Iberian users. The IBERGRID resource centres are: LIP-Lisbon, IFCA-Santander, UNICAN-Santander, CESGA-Santiago, USC-Santiago, UPV-Valencia, IFIC-Valencia, UP-Porto, UA-Aveiro, LIP-Coimbra, NCG-Lisbon, CFP-Lisbon, CAPFE-Granada, BIFI-Zaragoza, ARAGRID-Zaragoza, IFAE-Barcelona, PIC-Barcelona, UAB-Barcelona, REDIRIS-Madrid, CIEMAT-Madrid, CETA-Trujillo, UAM-Madrid, IFISC-Mallorca.
