Research Infrastructure

High Field National Fourier Transform Ion Cyclotron Network

Description This network of FT-ICR mass spectrometers (currently six sites) is operated by the FR 3624 federation. Currently the network is based on six instruments located in Lille, Metz, Orsay, Palaiseau and Paris. The network aims to provide access to high magnetic field FT-ICR mass spectrometers to scientists with a need for very high resolution and very high mass accuracy measurements. In addition, each site provides its own scientific expertise in various fields of mass spectrometry (proteomics, environmental molecules, metabolomics, laser desorption, coupling with specific activation techniques, ...). The operation of the infrastructure is funded by the CNRS and by the local establishments. Access is provided to the scientific community based on a constantly open call for projects aimed mainly at the French scientific community but also open to European and extra-European projects. The projects are reviewed within one month by the review panel and access to an instrument should be provided within three months.
