Description FIZ Karlsruhe is a leading international provider of scientific information and services. Its mission is to supply scientists and companies with professional research and patent information as well as to develop innovative information services. As a key player in the information infrastructure FIZ Karlsruhe pursues its own research program and also cooperates with leading universities and research associations. FIZ Karlsruhe collects tremendous quantities of information from a wide range of sources, and assures that this information can be accurately and reliably searched and analyzed at all times. FIZ provides databases that contain around 1.5 billion documents. Its clients include international market leaders from the pharmaceutical and chemical industries as well as large patent offices and research institutes. In addition, FIZ is engaged in the development of innovative e-science solutions and services, including systems for the confidential management of research data. FIZ Karlsruhe is a non-profit corporation and member of the Leibniz Association, which comprises almost 90 institutions involved in research activities and/or the development of scientific infrastructure.
