Euroregional Advanced Research Centre for Sensors and Sensor Systems Based on Magnetic Micro- and Nanomaterials

Description The Euroregional Advanced Research Centre for Sensors and Sensor Systems based on Magnetic Micro and NanoMaterials (MAGNESENS) has been recently established at the National Institute of Research and Development for Technical Physics Iasi (NIRDTP) using EU funds from the Sectoral Operational Programme "Increase in Economic Competitiveness”, with the aim to constitute a reference centre in the field of sensors, unique at national level. The Center comprises five horizontally bounded laboratories: Laboratory for the Preparation of Thin Films and Nanostructuring, Laboratory for Sensors and Sensor Networks based on Microdimensional Magnetic Materials, Laboratory for Magnetoresistive Sensors based on Magnetic Micro- and NanoMaterials, Laboratory for Magnetic Biosensors and Magnetic Sensors for Medicine (including clean room and magnetically shielded room facilities) with state-of-the-art equipment. The research activity of the Centre focuses on basic and applied research in the field of magnetic sensors and sensor systems, including multifunctional ones, whose operation is based on special physical properties of magnetic micro-and nanomaterials. The focus of the Centre is to create cutting-edge solutions and implement them in new partnerships with both academia and industry to set a model for carrying out fundamental, applied and industrial research in those high-tech fields in eastern Europe.
