Description | The Telescope Bernard Lyot is the largest telescope in France (2m, Pic du Midi). It serves the community of French and European astronomers by housing a unique instrument: the echelle spectropolarimeter Narval (R=65000, range 370-1000nm), dedicated to the measurement of stellar magnetic fields. In operation since 2007, Narval has already enabled the publication of more then a hundred of scientific papers highly ranked and cited by the international community of stellar astrophysicists. TBL offers 240 nights/year, regularly showing an observed pressure of > 2. |
