Description | The JEM-2800 is an electron microscope (200keV) with the capacity to perform high-resolution, high-throughput TEM and S/TEM imaging, EDS and tomography. The EM is equipped with an EDS (energy dispersive X-ray spectrometer) to collect X-rays from the samples up to 0.98 steradiants solid angle from a detection area of 100mm². This expands the elemental mapping capability exponentially. It was installed in 2013 and bought from own funds. Besides the electron microscopy itself, the main objectives are sample preparation and image analysis. The principle of service stipulates that the EM-Facility is managed by a scientific Head plus a Manager. This ensures state-of-the-art technologies and high quality standards and control. The EM-Facility will operate according to full cost accounting principles and the costs of services are charged to the users. |
