Nordsim facility at the Swedish Museum of Natural History in Stockholm

Description The Nordsim facility operates a CAMECA IMS1280 large geometry ion microprobe (upgraded in 2007 from an IMS1270) providing a wide range of high spatial resolution isotope and geochemical analyses in the earth sciences. The facility is jointly funded by the Nordic countries (Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway, Sweden) and provides access primarily to Nordic-based researchers. Other EU-based researchers can access the facility via the FP7 SYNTHESYS programme; international collaborative projects are also accepted. Principal methodologies include U-Pb geochronology, light stable isotope analysis (C, O, S) in geological materials and ion imaging.
