Ibercivis: A Free Volunteer Computing Platform for Multi-Domain Applications

Description Ibercivis is a project pioneered by the University of Zaragoza, Spain, later on extended to the entire Iberian territory in collaboration with the University of Coimbra, Portugal. Ibercivis is designed to allow scientists, particularly academic researchers without access to massive computer infrastructures, to deploy scientific applications and execute them across a network of computer CPUs donated by volunteer citizens around the World. In parallel, Ibercivis tries to narrow the gap between society and science, by fostering the interest and the participation of citizens in the science making process.
